Cell delivery is a promising treatment for cardiac repair; however it is limited by low cellular engraftment rates. With this limitation, we propose the use of fibrin microthreads as a mechanism for localized cellular delivery. The purpose of this project was to design a system to increase cell density on biological microthreads for use in cell assisted cardiovascular regeneration. The final design consisted of a dynamic seeding method paired with bundled microthreads, yielding 648+/-234cells/mm; indicative of a confluent cellular monolayer.
