THE ROLE OF INFLAMMTION IN TYPE II DIABETES

open in viewerInsulin resistance is one of the main causes of Type II diabetes. Recent studies have shown that inflammation plays a key role in the onset of insulin resistance. Elevated levels of inflammatory cytokines have been found to interfere with the insulin signaling. In this study, we intend to explore the relationship between inflammation and insulin resistance in immunodeficient mice on a high fat diet. These data will aid our understanding of how inflammation promotes insulin resistance.
