The current state of production at the Saint-Gobain Abrasives factory in Conflans is summarized in three stages: (1) fabrication of the abrasive, (2) lamination, and (3) printing. This project concerns the third stage and the replacement of the final printing machine in order to increase the efficiency of the production line. - - The team used a number of steps to achieve the final deliverable. First, a technical study was conducted on printing machines and their components. Along with this study, the team developed solutions regarding the production line, as well as a "cahier des charges", a list of specifications for possible manufacturers of the new machine. This document provides a description of the current situation, along with forecasted objectives and constraints.
