The goal of this Interactive Qualifying Project was to develop and implement sustainable greenhouse designs to preserve local native crops in Northern New Mexico. This was accomplished by assessing the sponsors’ greenhouses at the Santa Fe Indian School and Tesuque Pueblo, testing possible retrofits experimentally, and making recommendations on how to make the greenhouses more energy efficient. Additionally, the team produced educational resources, including a website and an instructional video depicting the construction of a hoop house, in order to empower the local community with essential tools to make their greenhouses more sustainable.
