The goal of this IQP was to improve the quality of the undergraduate Electricity and Magnetism labs at WPI. This paper describes our process for assessing the labs. We describe the surveys we used to determine which parts of the lab are in most need for improvement the responses to those surveys, our methods for analyzing the responses, and the conclusions we drew from that analysis. Based on the survey responses, we then go on to recommend three key areas for improvement: Proof reading all the lab documents for errors, making the expectations of the labs clearer to students at the start of term, and increasing the time given to students to complete the lab report.
