Project SOAR collaborated with Draper, a research and development organization based in Cambridge, MA, to integrate real-time oxygen sensing capabilities into Draper's organ-on-a-chip device. The goal of this project was to identify and determine a means of incorporating an oxygen quenchable sensor format into their existing device. This format must be able to sustain the conditions of normal device use including thermal cycling, sterilization, and exposure to cell culture media for prolonged periods of time.
