SRI International, in coordination with the University of Michigan, is leading the Radio Aurora eXplorer (RAX) mission. This mission aims to measure the intensity of plasma irregularities in the auroral ionosphere. Our Major Qualifying Project was concerned with constructing a realistic simulation of the bi-static satellite-radar system and generate synthetic radar data. Moreover, it was also required to develop deconvolution algorithms to invert the synthetic radar data so as to deduce the intensity and magnetic field alignment of the irregularities.
