The purpose of this project was to study the feasibility of using concrete instead of glass as material for an outdoor sculpture that can be illuminated from within. In our prototype translucency of concrete was achieved by adding acrylic rod and fishing line to the concrete mixture. - Our prototype, an eight foot tall totem pole, was exhibited at an art show, where we studied the public's reaction to high-tech art.
