The goal of this project is to contribute to the improvement of the facility management operations for the Massachusetts Port Authority (Massport) by streamlining the handover process and optimizing asset operations by extending the current use of Building Information Modeling (BIM). This project enriched the BIM models of the Framingham Parking Garage facility and created a template to help investigate better practices for data attainment. Information collected was incorporated into the existing BIM model to facilitate future operations of maintenance. It also explored potential improvements for the interoperability between BIM model and the Computer Maintenance Management System. Extensions for improved BIM interoperability with structural analysis were also explored.
