DNA Profiling is one of the most discriminating identifiers available to forensic scientists. Despite a general acceptance of the science, DNA profiling has generated much controversy in court. This report examines this controversy and includes recommendations for proper handling of DNA evidence in the legal system. This report also covers the general principles of the science and may serve as a lesson on DNA profiling for anyone wishing to use the technique in court.

  • This report represents the work of one or more WPI undergraduate students submitted to the faculty as evidence of completion of a degree requirement. WPI routinely publishes these reports on its website without editorial or peer review.
