In this IQP we studied and enhanced education efforts on Type II in the British Virgin Islands, and investigated the feasibility of a Tortola Project Center. We established contacts, codified visitation procedures for future groups, produced informational pamphlets for health fairs, and developed D.A.R.E-based diabetes curricula for K-12. We concluded that education could ameliorate Tortola's type II diabetes problems, and that Tortola would provide abundant project possibilities and a hospitable environment for an IGSD Project Center.
