Thayer Soule was one of the most prominent practitioners of the art of the travelogue lecturers to have ever come to Mechanics Hall in Worcester. His career began in the late 1930s under the tutelage of the Burton Holmes and continued into the early 1990s, when he retired. Although Soule learned much from Holmes, he taught more, by introducing new technologies and modernizing the travelogue business. Soule's career spanned the heyday of the travelogue business from the 1960s to the 1970s.
