The goal of the Virtual Conductor is to design a system that can accurately relate a music conductor's gestures to computer programmed music. The gestures of the conductor will control certain dynamics of the music such as volume and tempo. Many types of technology were considered in the project including localized GPS, infrared cameras, accelerometers, etc. The project concluded that technology for such a system is available now. However, future development of localized positioning systems will yield more practical results.
