The Patriot Act was passed by the United States Congress and signed into law in 2001 to increase the intelligence powers of the government. The aim is to increase security to fight terrorism but many believe it severely invaded privacy and civil rights. This project surveyed students perceptions of the act in its tradeoff between security and privacy. The survey results showed that students mostly thought the act was wrong and objected to it.
