The purpose of our project is to learn and understand the process of a revolutionary concept, called lean manufacturing, which is sweeping itself throughout the manufacturing industry. We researched and investigated the many intricacies that surrounded lean manufacturing, from the origins within the Toyota Production System to specific case studies involving three medium sized companies. We dove into many real world cases where lean manufacturing had been, or attempted to be implemented, and developed a keen insight into the future of manufacturing.
