The purpose of this project was to design and implement an internal communications system, known as an intranet, and to produce a training manual to accompany the intranet for Arthritis Care, one of the United Kingdom's largest nonprofit organizations. The dispersed structure of Arthritis Care poses communication challenges for the organization, creating a need for an effective internal communications system. We used a workshop, a survey and focus groups to gather information about the content and structure of the intranet and training manual. The intranet was designed for easy maintenance and expandability to accommodate for any future needs of the organization.
