This project addresses why the Latino population chose to locate in Worcester based on the characteristics and opportunities that the city has to offer them. The research surrounding this report entails an overview of hislorical and census data as well as interviews with members of the Latino community. The reasons are revealed along with their impact on Latino education, economics, and health care. This study was aided by input from Centro Las Americas, the foremost agency in the city of Worcester, which is dedicated to providing assistance to the Latino community. The study shows that the common incentives to the growth of the Latino community in Worcester are: family and work. The conclusion of this work is that the Latino population in Worcester will continue to grow, offering better opportunities to future generations, working to establish close community ties.
