This project administered a survey pertaining to farrier services at U.S. veterinary teaching hospitals (VTH). Representing seventy-five percent of American VTH's, the results successfully characterize the farrier-VTH relationship. The results reveal a discrepancy between the great importance of farriers at the VTH and the lack of privileges they receive from said institutions. The team provides recommendations by which this discrepancy could be narrowed, along with what should be standard operating procedure for VTH farriery.
