Electricity generation, distribution and free markets.

open in viewerWe study issues pertaining to electricity markets, from technical aspects in generation and distribution to their social and economic impact. We investigate details of electricity generation, transmission and distribution, leading to discussions with environmental, economic and political ramifications. Pros and cons of deregulation policies for electricity markets are reviewed, exploring the nature of this market and analyzing current issues in deregulation. The evidence suggests that a hybrid system of regulation and free markets may be optimal.
