The objective of this project was to assess the feasibility of the project from a financial and manufacturing point of view. The rationale was that low cost housing for the masses could be achieved using an automated system. The methods used included meetings with industry leaders, in both the buyer and supplier markets, Axiomatic Design, Arena Simulation and advanced financial analysis methods. The results showed that the founders desire to reduce the cost of building from an average of $150/sqft to below $100/sqft might not be feasible. Our conclusions show costs will be greater than $120/sqft. Therefore, it is not recommended that SPS advance the project in its the current form.
