In the process of implementing a sensory room for children with various disabilities, Roosevelt Elementary School asked our team to develop a floor plan and two rehabilitative devices for the room. One of the devices designed and manufactured was a rocking horse capable of seating children with minimal and moderate muscle function. The horse provides a therapeutic rocking motion and assists students in building their core strength. A light wall was also designed and manufactured by our team to provide a fun and stimulating game for children diagnosed with Autism and Down Syndrome while improving coordination. Our group’s deliverables serve as key elements to Roosevelt Elementary’s rehabilitative and educational program for their students with mental and physical disabilities.
