Since the beginning of peer-to-peer file sharing nearly ten years ago, the Internet has defined an entirely new meaning of copyright infringement. The U.S. Law prohibits unauthorized distribution of copyrighted materials, regardless it has become a popular activity in the online community. For this project we conducted a survey that tested students for their knowledge of copyright law and file sharing habits. Among other observations, we have found that many students were simply unaware of the extent of the copyright law.
