Student Work
Chemistry Microworlds
PublicDownloadable Content
open in viewerThis project studies the misconceptions that middle school students have in chemistry. Using information taken from research on the misconceptions, this project uses the ASSISTments system to design an activity that uses both a microworld and a simulation to improve middle school students' understanding of chemistry. This activity proposes two possible scenarios that introduce a microscopic-level view of chemical changes and a macro-level perspective, and questions whether introducing one level first before the other would improve students' understanding.
