This project, sponsored by the American Antiquarian Society, continued work on a database of images from Scientific American. Our group added over two volumes of the periodical to the database (1859-1860). We also made the website functional and updated it to include new features; such as browse, search, and advanced search pages. The group also compiled data on the locations of mid-nineteenth century inventors who filed for patents, revealing that the patents showcased in Scientific American were a good representation of American patents as a whole.
