Abstract
Current energy generation methods are economically, environmentally, and physically unsustainable. Nuclear power generation is cleaner and more sustainable than fossil fuels. The paper compiles and assesses current opinions and facts about the viability of thorium energy generation as compared to uranium energy generation. Thorium is a cleaner, safer, cheaper, and more abundant alternative to uranium. With a substantial monetary investment into research and development, thorium fuel could successfully be used to supplement or replace uranium fuel.
