open in viewerThis study is an extension of the previous Worcester Polytechnic Institute study on the perceived future of robotics. It is a longitudinal look at the changing perceptions of students throughout their participation in ascience, technology and society class focused on the social implications of emergent technologies in general and robotics in particular. We used four scenarios in a questionnaire to ascertain how likely and desirable the students found these potential robotic futures. We found that the class changed the student’s perceptions and opinions.
