Tourist Information Kiosks in the City of Windhoek

open in viewerTourism is the third largest contributor to Namibia's GDP; however, the Capital City of Windhoek has not yet fully benefited from this. Access to information was identified as a weakness in the 2006 Tourism Strategy; one proposed solution is the implementation of 24-hour touch screen tourist information kiosks. Drawing from our interviews with tourism stakeholders we made recommendations regarding the design and placement of these kiosks. We also determined a maintenance plan and budget to ensure the long-term functionality of the kiosks.
