Transgenic animals are animals that have been genetically altered by inserting a transgene into their genomes to express a new trait. This IQP provides an overview of the construction of transgenic animals, the categories they fall into, and notable examples of each type. The effects of this new technology on both science and society were investigated by describing current ethical and legal debates. Finally, conclusions were formulated based on our research.
