Mechanism animation for machine design instruction.
PublicDownloadable Content
open in viewerA series of mechanisms commonly studied in the Kinematics of Mechanisms (ME3310) and Dynamics of Machinery (ME3311) classes at WPI were modeled using Pro-Engineer. The model animations were incorporated into an interactive web-based tutorial aimed at increasing student comprehension of the velocity and acceleration characteristics of linkages. A four bar model was also configured to complement the Hrones and Nelson Atlas of Fourbar Coupler Curves by providing detailed information for the general motion solutions contained therein.
