Abstract
An analysis of rainfall and water use data is given in an attempt to determine whether or not increased development of the Southwest has affected the amount of precipitation in the mid-western and eastern states. To justify the analysis, descriptions of its developmental history, climate and principal water uses are given and evapotranspiration is explained. Although some data correlates fairly well, given the complexity of weather systems it is still undetermined whether or not a cause and affect relationship truly exists.
