In a new light: A psychological study of video games

An objective evaluation of the common perception that video games are a major cause of youth violence is provided. This view is expressed in Lt. Col. Dave Grossman's book Stop Teaching Our Kids to Kill. A thorough critique of this book and other literature is provided. An analysis of current video games and recommendations for games with positive team-building psychological benefits are given. Recommendations for increasing awareness of the effects of games are provided to parents, government agencies, and the video game industry.
