Abstract

Design and implementation of a career aspirations survey administered to current juniors in the Worcester Public High Schools is discussed. Purposes of the survey included gender, ethnicity and school based analysis of interests and aspirations as well as identifying students for the City Manager's Committee on the Status of Women in Worcester's Young Woman of Consequence Award. Analyses revealed that gender and ethnic stereotypes continue to exist today, but to different extents among Worcester's seven public schools.
