In this project, we analyzed the effect of instructor gender and student gender on students' evaluations of the professors at Worcester Polytechnic Institute. We used the Statistical Analysis System (SAS) to analyze the data from the first fourteen questions of the WPI evaluation forms which we collected during Term C99 at WPI. Four hundred forms from eleven courses were analyzed. The results seemed to show that female professors received lower ratings than male professors and female professors received their highest ratings from female students and their lowest ratings from male students. However, we could not draw a definite conclusion because the sample size was too small.
