Innovative new ways of using computers in writing tutorial sessions have recently been a popular topic for research in the writing workshop community; however, the more traditional roles of computers have been ignored. This project studies the design of the database application used by WPI's writing workshop to take appointments and keep records Focus is given to how the design affects the function of the program. An attempt is made to rethink and redesign the database around an "appointment" metaphor.
