Abstract

Massachusetts Biomedical Initiatives (MBI) is a life science incubator. To evaluate its economic impact and that of the life science industry in Central Massachusetts a database was created and economic multiplier was applied. In benchmarking MBI, its operating costs and spatial breakdown were evaluated. For MBI to have maximum effect the possibility of renovation or expansion was evaluated. Interviews were conducted to conclude on best practices for the organization.
