Abstract

Our project investigates the possible correlation between students who participated in FIRST robotics in high school and academic success in college. Utilizing registrar records and surveying, we noted the differences in performance and school engagement from year to year, to see if FIRST prepares students for the education of Worcester Polytechnic Institute. The time commitment, group environment, and immersion in education and technology lead us to believe that students who participate in FIRST will be excellent candidates for admission.
