Over the past 35 years, the Mechanics Division of the American Society of Engineering Education has studied the role of mechanics courses and the status of mechanics in undergraduate engineering education. This project involved analysis of past research, reviewing program accreditation changes, and creating a new survey that updates ASEE's investigation. New survey material focused on recent advances in computers, multimedia, and the Internet. Detailed recommendations for the analysis of survey results are included as guidelines for future work.
