The goal of this project was to develop an educational system for teaching science to middle school children using LEGOs as a flexible hands-on tool. After extensive research of education and learning styles, as well as current usage of LEGOs in science education, it was decided to gear the project more towards changing the current curriculum for teaching science to teaching engineering using LEGOs as a tool. This project shows where the current system is lacking and how teaching engineering at K-12 levels can improve it. Some preliminary model ideas to teach basic engineering principles were also developed.
