The interactive online tutoring system Assistments was used to compare the effectiveness of online teaching using "scaffolding" and a traditional hints only system for MCAS preparation. Students were tested in three local schools, Worcester North High School, Worcester Vocational High School, and Doherty High School. A control group was given hints, and the test group was given scaffolding. The student's results were then analyzed to determine which was more effective.
