Abstract

The outlining of a methodology for the digital preservation of historically significant data in various media-text, audio, video and photographic, is vital to regional jazz societies such as the New England Jazz Alliance (NEJA). Utilizing research and experimentation both in the field and at research workstations, a codified approach to preserving these media using the NEJA online database while adhering to industry-standard digital formats and protocols was created.
