The project applied e-Government principles to the Boston Environment Department. This goal was accomplished through the design of two electronic systems, one each for the historical and environmental review processes. The historical system included both a website for electronic permit submission from the city's website and an interactive database for department staff. The environmental system was a database that allowed for electronic filing, tracking and searching of information. The project aided Boston in its implementation of a ground-breaking e-Government system.
