The purpose of this Interactive Qualifying Project was to analyse the 2000/2001 Hong Kong Port and Maritime Board Port Cargo Forecasts and draw conclusions regarding the reliability of its predictions. We addressed the accuracy of the 2000/2001 forecasts and included recommendations for improving the accuracy of future predictions. The analysis was based on statistics for cargo throughput in Hong Kong, and views of government and non-government port officials. Our conclusions were presented to our sponsor, Civic Exchange.
