The purpose of this project was to evaluate the effects of education on consumers' perception and acceptance of genetically modified foods in developed and developing countries. This was done in Ghana and the United States. The project had a short educational program on biotechnology, and a two-part evaluation survey to be completed before and after the presentation. An analysis of the results showed that our educational program effectively changed the public's perception and acceptance of GM foods in Ghana. However, it was less effective in creating a significant impact on the opinions of Americans.
