Wilkes, John M.
The purpose of this study was to determine the implications on earth of breakthroughs in a possible space race. The Delphi method (applied to noteables in the field and WPI alumni) was the primary source of research for this study. Manufacturing techniques for carbon nanotubes and methods of achieving sustainable nuclear fusion are discussed. It was determined that breakthroughs in space technology would greately affect society, but that society would also affect these breakthroughs.
