This project describes the basics of DNA fingerprinting and shows its importance in the field of forensic science. Using the vast resources of the Internet, as well as scientific journals, we provide background on the subject of DNA fingerprinting. We develop this project in layman's terms so as to be read by jurors and lawyers. Based on our research, we conclude that this powerful new technique, when performed correctly, has the potential of becoming the greatest forensic tool in the history of science.
