This project shows the best Internet and ecommerce practices of selected German mechanical engineering companies and suggests improvements. To accomplish this, a literature review was coupled with case studies, interviews, and web site analyses of companies. We found that the companies studied do not take full advantage of the Internet's potential, although some of the companies are on the right track. These companies should engage in practices such as defining an overall Internet strategy and communicating via the Internet.
