This project was commissioned by Janssen Ortho LLC in order to establish a forest reserve on the grounds of their pharmaceutical manufacturing facility in Gurabo, Puerto Rico. The project team assisted Janssen in developing a forest reserve representative of indigenous and exotic growth that can be used as an educational resource by the surrounding community. The project team evaluated the species of trees present, determined a list of potential species for integration, developed a plan detailing the contents and background of the forest and conducted interviews with species identification experts, local educators, students and neighboring residents. As a result, we developed a comprehensive tour guide training manual and educational material for distribution.
