This project was commissioned by the Colegio Tecnologico del Municipio in San Juan, Puerto Rico. The college is interested in solving the problems facing the San Juan fishermen. The problem is that they are restricted to the overfished coastal waters. The Colegio wants an educational program to teach the fishermen how to fish in the deep-sea waters. The team of WPI students gathered necessary data in order to make the switch to deep-sea fishing and make recommendations for their educational program.
