This project, sponsored by the City of Cambridge, Department of Traffic, Parking and Transportation, examined utilizing exiting traffic control technology to change driver behavior. The project goal was to use technology to lessen traffic volume on a critical residential street and thus address residents' concerns regarding the impact of traffic on the quality of residential life. Through traffic study and analysis, the project team made recommendations regarding use of traffic signal timing to improve the quality of urban residential life.
