This report, prepared for El Cuerpo de Bomberos, the firefighting division of Costa Rica's Instituto Nacional de Seguros (INS), examines the feasibility of implementing a Geographic Information System (GIS) to assist in organizing, communicating and analyzing information necessary at the scene of a fire. Through interviews and questionnaires, we studied the need for such a system, determined the information and system requirements, and created an implementation plan for El Cuerpo de Bomberos.
